Back again!!

Well it seems that I took the summer off, didn't it.  Blogging has just fallen to the wayside recently.  But I think I may try to start again, again.

School starts soon.  I will have one in Pre K, one in 1st grade and one in 2nd grade.  I really can not believe how big my boys are getting.

I am also starting on a weight loss journey, I realized yesterday that I have one pair of shorts that fit, and they were dirty, it sucked.  So I started on Sparkpeople again.  I have redone my goals, and am starting at the beginning.  My short term goal is to get to 170, give up soda for a week and go for a walk daily.  (I am going to have to make this short so I can go outside and take a quick walk.)  oh and drink my water, 8--8 oz glasses.

Well I better go and get that walk in.

A new day.

Good Morning.

I have given up Babycenter for lent.  I have also given up Facebook, at least during the day, and soda.  So I am guessing that will give me more time to actually blog.  Won't that be fun!

I just finished making peanut butter bars, and the Kids (my son Nolan, and my niece and nephew) are playing in the corner cabinet.  They are getting out all of the potato's and, pots and pans that are under there.

The older boys got off to school today, and we even managed to get every ones teeth brushed.  parenting plus.

I of course did not get the stuff together for dress up as what you want to be when you grow up day.  Ethan wants to be a Police Officer.  I didn't think about it till yesterday and then forgot again.  We don't have any police dress up clothes.. so instead he is going as a firefighter.  Parenting Fail.   (he did say he wanted to be a firefighter also, but really wanted to be a police officer)  I should have ran up to Dollar General and just picked up a badge or something for him to wear.  Once again.. such a big parenting fail.

I have to get some cleaning done today,  Bryson is having a friend over after school for a play date.

I do believe that I have to go referee a disagreement in the kitchen.

Boy Scouts

Well I seem to have messed something else up.  I have not been able to stay on top of boy scouts.  I guess I am just going to have to do better in the future.

Maybe someday I will be more organized?

For some reason I can not type at the top.  But It has been a while since I posted, so I decided to play catch up.  These pictures are from mid December.  My brother Nate, had invited us (the boys) up to watch a movie on the new 3D tv, and to have breakfast.   We watched Smurfs.  It was a great time, and breakfast was really good!

Home Made

Today I made homemade noodles, and home made croutons.  I went shopping the other day, and needed noodles.  I refuse though to pay full price for them, and I am out.  So I decided that I would just make my own when I made lasagna again, I mean how hard can it be.

So tonight was the night.  I was making a spin on a lasagna recipe I like.  So not only was I going to make noodles I was also going to change a recipe a little.  What a busy night.  So I found a recipe for noodles (I lost the link, but you can just search for a recipe for pasta or noodles if you want one)  mine I think was something like this

2 cups flour, 1/4 t salt, mix together.. make a bowl in the middle.   Mix 3 eggs, 1 t oil, and 1 T milk (i messed this up though and put in 1 T oil and 1t or a splash more of milk.  mix slowly into the flour/salt.  knead, let rest, knead again, and roll out.     (i would suggest you just search for one)

I boiled them.  pulled them out, used my lasagna recipe  , but instead of layering it, I rolled the cheese  (and a little sauce) into the noodles to make individual little rolls.  Then I baked it per directions..

The croutons where just a after thought when Scott asked if we had any,  I was like no, but i can make some.. so I cut up the last of the bread (home made the other day) and stuck it in the oven for a little bit of time (i just watched them)  i did sprinkle them with a little onion powder.. wish I had garlic, but i don't.  I am pretty excited about my going out into homemade cooking..

now to learn how to make spaghetti sauce from scratch, then I won't buy anything canned.  I will have to learn that this summer.   I am planting some tomato plants on the side yard.

wish I had pictures but I don't.  It looked pretty good though, and everyone ate it up!

Another Pinterest

I love this sight!

I saw two different ideas on Pinterest, one was a calendar with the word blessed over it and the other was boards painted with clips applied for kids art work, here they are..
Love, especially because it lets them know how important they are :)

and here is what i came up with

I really  needed a new calendar, so when I got a gift card to Hobby Lobby, I jumped at the chance to do this.   Lets start at the top and work our way down.

The letters are just wooden letters, with scrap paper modge podged to it.

The calendar, is a picture frame  16x20.    On the inside of the glass I did the grid with a permanent black marker.  This I found to be the hardest part, and Scott helped me to measure it and figure out the measurements, to make it center, it helps to have a husband who teaches math.  (it is very slightly off though, this i don't think was his fault though.

The wood was a piece I had.  It sat on the top of my dresser but had been taken off and was hidden in my closet.  For clips I used clothes pins, and also modgepodged  scrap paper on them.

there you go.  pretty easy.

of course though, as only can happen at my house, I am now missing the letter L.  this is what happened when you don't attach them to the wall fast enough.  (i do have another L, just need the scrap paper to finish it)
