The Baby is 3

It is hard to believe how fast they grow, but today my youngest turned 3.  Any parent knows what I am talking about, one day they are 6 mths and you blink and they are 3, 5, or even 10.  I know before I know it Nolan will be going to school, or Bry and Ethan will be graduating.  I just can't believe how fast time has flown.

So today I say happy Birthday Little Man,  Daddy and I love you.  Hope you had a great day!!!!

Making the Birthday Cake

The almost 3 year old helping with his cake

The first one is done.  This is the first time I have had a cake come out of the pan intact.  
I made two of these rounds.

It is cut out, and put together.  I have the start of the 1st coat of icing on it.

It is totally iced.  I think it looks pretty good.

almost done.  I used Hershey Bar to make the scales.  Tootsie rolls for the spots,
and M&M's for the toes and eyes.  Just a little icing for the mouth to finish it off

Finished product.  dyed coconut for grass.  Wish I had moved him down a little, and I could have put some clouds up above him. 

I think this is the best cake I have ever made.

ouchies

Yesterday we went out to tropical snow, and a short trip to the park.  The park was unplanned.  I just threw some shoes on Nolan, and this is what his foot looked like when we got home.

The other one isn't as bad.  It just has a little spot on his heel.  I am unsure how this happened. I mean the shoes fit him fine a couple of days ago, but maybe he had a foot growth spurt.  I am also thinking maybe for the sores on the side, that a woodchip maybe was down the side of his shoe.  Poor kid, it really really hurt.  I nursed the poor thing to sleep, and he woke up about a half a hour later wimpering, until he was really awake.  I tried to give him some tylenol, and he spit a good amount of it out.  I ended up tyring to nurse him back to sleep again, which didn't work.  He ended up just laying on me obviously very uncomformatable and eventually fell back to sleep...

poor kid and this was the night before his birthday.  

It did seem better today, and he thoroughly enjoyed his birthday party (those pictures to come, probably tomorrow)

First week of school test!

Well we are about done with the first week of school.  I am so proud of this spelling pretest Bry took yesterday.  I really thought we were on the right road until he brought home his vocabulary test today.  He didn't do as well on that as he did on spelling.  Tomorrow is his actual spelling test hopefully he will do really good on it (although he is still having trouble with am, but we will probably work with that some more tonight).  Next week we will have to work harder on Vocab words. 

Earlier Mischief

So earlier I wrote my first post but had to get off due to a child getting into something.  So here is said boy and here is what he did.

Starting over again

Well here I am again,  starting over.  This is my second blog.  I decided to scrap my old one.  I may just make it private so only I can look back at what I had written in the past.  This blog starts a new page.  This is my journal.  A journal for my boys to read if they wish, or not to read. 

and as I am writting this  a boy has gotten into something, so I will be back later, probably at nap time
